Shara is the definition of "driven" and in 2007, she performed on Showtime at the Apollo, and did an incredible rendition of Oleta Adams’ “Get Here.” Shara thoroughly impressed the notoriously tough crowd, solidifying her star quality for all the world to see. After that performance, Shara received a phone call from Mark Green, the general manager of the Bergen Performing Arts Center in New Jersey. Mark had seen her on TV, and offered her a slot opening up for Pat Benatar. Shortly after the show, Shara won the Grand Prize of $10,000 in the 2007 Famecast.com competition, and was given the title of “Pop Fenom.” She was one of 10,000 entries, and was among the top 5 contestants flown to Austin, Texas to perform a in a webcast in front of a live audience.
Shara just finished recording the FX theme song for their national television campaign, and continues playing her original material in the New York area. With the experience of a seasoned vet and the drive of a rising star, this “triple-threat” is sure to shine. In many different languages, the name Shara means "singing" and that's no coincidence.
There is no hype around Shara, she is the real deal. She is not, and will never be a gimmick or a flash in the pan. Shara is the type of artist who defines longeavity and whose goal is to have her own section on the record store shelf. An eternal performer, Shara's live shows are even better than her records, and she is also a working SAG and Equity actress. Recently, Shara was honored to gain the title of "Pop Fenom" Season 2, at FAMECAST.COM, one of the largest internet talent competitions on the web. She was featured as Artist of the Week on one of the music industry's leading websites, HitQuarters.com in June 2009 and was chosen as a Singersuniverse.com top 5 vocalists of the month. Most Recently, she was featured on CBS talk radio “The Barry Z show” as one of the "most talented emerging artists in the NYC talent pool".
